Friends of Strings at UCLA  provides financial support and other resources to advance the study of string instruments, at UCLA. The organization's core objectives include:

 

  • Supporting the growing needs of the UCLA String Studies program with respect to curriculum, student support, workshops, master classes, travel abroad, and collaborative endeavors

 

  • Producing unique musical events to benefit UCLA's string studies

 

  • Supporting the ongoing development of the UCLA Camarades program, a collaborative chamber music initiative for students and faculty to share the stage

 

  • Supporting the retention of the UCLA Duke of Alcantara Stradivarius

 

  • Improving knowledge of UCLA and its extraordinary educational resources 

including its String Studies Program

 

  • Providing more positive exposure and public awareness of UCLA's String Program
